A fain glow shown in the distant horizon, a sign that dawn had arrived. The autumn air was chilly, but bearable. Up in the branches of a large oak tree there laid a sleeping Serperior. His regal head rested over a large bulge in his midsection while the rest of his body wound slightly around a sturdy branch. The Serperior slowly opened one of his eyes, the red iris flaring in the new light. He sighed deeply before closing it again. I'll let her sleep for a while longer he thought before drifting back to sleep.

The night air was crisp and clean, the temperature steadily falling. A young girl leaned against the trunk of a browning tree, her shivers growing more violent by the minute.

The soldiers came from nowhere, a group of at least 10 men. Elwyr was slept peacefully in his cave as they came and blocked the cave's entrance. Whoosh! Wind gusted out in every direction as the dragon flapped her wings one last time and touched down. Her name was Salren. She was jet black with a furry, bright red mane and just large enough for her two friends Miles and Tia to ride on.
